Award winning make up artist to the stars, launches a worlds first make up application for the iPhone - Makeuptagg.
Makeuptagg is the first and only application on the App Store to help people choose the best make up for their colouring - as recommended by some of the worlds finest make up artists. Now including the “must have” skin care products.
Having chosen and applied make up to some of the worlds biggest stars such as Keira Knightley, Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp; fourteen of the greatest professional make up artists have contributed their knowledge and expertise to Makeuptagg. The iPhone application launched in July 2010 and updated in December 2010, not only reveals and explains the secrets long enjoyed by stars of film, television and fashion - but will help everyone to discover the best combinations of make up for their exact phenotype (colouring).
Makeuptagg helps people to choose and apply makeup that suits their exact colouring, skin tone and hair-colour, generating near-endless combinations of tailored product recommendations according to someone’s complexion, eyes, cheeks and lips. Results can even be filtered by price-range: budget, mid-range or luxury. In-app video tutorials reveal the tricks of the professionals, and give tips on applying the best and hottest products.
Not only will the application be an essential tool for anyone wanting the perfect look, each of the fourteen make up artists have revealed unique information and trade secrets within the app and have also supplied objective reviews of their preferred products – ensuring people know what the celebrities are really wearing and what the real ‘must have’ products are for their makeup bag, additionally, the recommended products can be purchased online through the system.
Makeuptagg is the brainchild of makeup artist Liz Tagg, winner of a prestigious Hollywood Guild Award and nominee for both BAFTA and EMMY awards for her outstanding makeup work.
Liz says: “The closest thing to an application I’d been was the application of lipstick - but it seemed to me that, after working as a makeup artist in film and TV for 26 years, the iPhone represented a real opportunity to share some of the amazing knowledge I’ve picked up along the way and to demystify the secrets of great makeup. So many people, even people I know, end up buying products that end up in the back of a drawer, unused.
“I’m thrilled that many of my colleagues agreed to contribute, and the result is Makeuptagg. I hope it can help people avoid what can be pretty expensive ‘makeup mistakes’ and have some fun along the way too,” she adds.
MakeupTagg is available now in the app store price $1.99 / £1.19 and has a great review in December issue of Oprah magazine.
About the contributors
Fourteen make-up artists working in film, television and fashion have contributed their knowledge to Makeuptagg. Each has listed his/her most-used makeup items and has supplied their unbiased reviews for each product.
